Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce clocked her second-fastest season opener to win the women's 100m in Luzern.
Five-time world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce blazed back into the world title conversations after clocking 10.82s to win the women's 100m at the Spitzen Leichtathletik in Luzern, Switzerland.
Despite having a poor start, the Jamaican ensured her top-end speed finished the job, storming past the field ahead of Zoe Hobbs, who ran 11.08s, and Kennedy Blackmon in 11.11s for third.
The race was her first 100m of the season, having been plagued with injuries earlier in the year and only officially kicked off her season by running in the 200m at the Jamaica trials.
It is also her second-fastest career season opener, and the time propels her to fourth on this year's top lists, which strengthens her claim to successfully defend her world title.

Fraser-Pryce now joins Shericka Jackson, Sha'Carri Richardson, Marie-Josee Ta Lou, and undefeated Julien Alfred as the top favourites to win the world title in Budapest.
