Multiple world and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has expressed her delight at being featured in the January/February issue of Essence magazine which celebrates Black Women in Sports.
While reveling stunning photos taken in various outfits, such as Luis Vuitton and Nike to be used in the American lifestyle magazine, the Jamaican sprinter said the article covers her life on and off the track.
“I had the pleasure of being featured in the Jan/Feb 24’ @essence issue that celebrates Black Women in Sports. Thank you @missjabali for the thoughtful interview where we discussed life both on and off the track. On stands now,” Fraser-Pryce said via an Instagram post.

ATHLETICS Noah Lyles sets World Indoor Championships target
Noah Lyles has already set his target ahead of the World Indoor Championships as he looks forward to lock horns with Christian Coleman and Fred Kerley.
The five-time world 100m champion was last featured in Essence magazine when she signed a deal with luxury watch brand Richard Mille in November last year, joining tennis great Rafael Nadal and high jump king Mutaaz Barshim as ambassadors.
Fraser-Pryce is preparing for a grueling 2024 season that will culminate with the Paris Olympics which will be her fifth and probably last appearance at the Games.
After failing to make it six world 100m titles by winning bronze at last year’s World Championships in Budapest, she will hope to claim her third Olympics title in Paris.
Fraser-Pryce had an injury-interrupted 2023 campaign that saw her miss a number of events before she healed just in time for the Worlds but she could not much the pace and power of Sha’Carri Richardson and Shericka Jackson.
She will be hoping for a different outcome this year where the duo, and five-time Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah, are seen as her main rivals.
