'I thought we were past colorism in Jamaica'- Noah Lyles' girlfriend makes complaint over being cyberbullied by own countrymen
The Jamaican sprinter has revealed her struggles with cyberbullying and colorism following her recent Olympic performance and online backlash.
“I honestly thought we were past colorism in Jamaica especially as a nation that is filled with Black people,” Bromfield wrote in a heartfelt post. “I have been getting cyberbullied for weeks and when it gets talked about I'm a liar.”
The catalyst for this controversy appears to be a viral video featuring American sprinter Noah Lyles.
In the video, Lyles suggests that Bromfield has been leaking information about Jamaican athletes' training routines, leading to a surge of online backlash against her.
He remarked, “It’s funny because Junelle being Jamaican and having trained in MVP, I’ve been getting the drama from Jamaican camps for at least five years.”

[WATCH] Video resurfaces of Noah Lyles sharing Jamaican secrets as spilt by his girlfriend Junelle Bromfield
A video of Noah Lyles speaking about the information her girlfriend Junelle Bromfield gives him concerning Jamaicans has resurfaced.
Lyles further elaborated on Bromfield's relationships within the Jamaican track and field scene, highlighting her past friendship with Elaine Thompson-Herah, a five-time Olympic champion, and her current close ties with Shericka Jackson, a two-time world champion in the 200m.
Lyles added a touch of humor to the situation, mentioning that Bromfield was once responsible for buying wigs for Jackson to wear at the Olympic Games.
In what many believe to be a response to Bromfield’s recent public disclosure, Shericka Jackson shared cryptic messages on her Instagram story, seemingly directed at Bromfield.
Although Jackson didn’t name Bromfield directly, the timing and content of her posts suggest a fallout between the two athletes.
“Stay away from people that act like a victim in a problem they created,” Jackson posted, followed by, “Sometimes people pretend you are a bad person so they do not feel guilty about the things they did to you.”
This apparent discord is particularly surprising given the close bond Jackson and Bromfield have shared over the years, having both been products of the MVP Racing Club under the guidance of renowned coach Stephen Francis.
Their friendship was even featured in Netflix’s series "SPRINT," where Bromfield was seen grooming Jackson’s hair.
