Jackson clocked a course record time of 21.41 ahead of USA’s Gabrielle Thomas.

Shericka Jackson has successfully defended her world title after dominating the women’s 200m final race in Budapest, Hungary.

Jackson clocked a course record time of 21.41 ahead of USA’s Gabrielle Thomas who timed 21.81 to cross the finish line second. World 100m champion, Sha’Carri Richardson was forced to settle for third place in a Personal Best time of 21.92.

Ivory Coast’s Marie-Jose Ta Lou also missed out on the podium in the race after clocking 22.64 to settle for eighth place.

Meanwhile, in the women's race, the World 100m champion secured a double after successfully defending his 200m title. Lyles clocked 19.52 ahead of another American Erriyon Knighton who timed 19.75 to cross the line. 

Botswana's wunderkind Letsile Tebogo finished third in 19.81. He exits the World Championships with great achievements, having become the first African to bag a medal in the men's 100m race at the global showpiece.
