Cote D'Ivoire's Marie-Josee Ta Lou recorded another impressive win defeating a stacked field at the London Diamond League.

Marie Josee Ta Lou continued her impressive season form, defeating homegirl Dina Asher-Smith and Jamaica's Shericka Jackson in the women's 100m event at the London Diamond League.

With Sha'Carri Richardson withdrawing a few hours before the race due to an injury, the race was between Ta Lou and Jackson for the famous win.

The Ivorian lived up to expectations, clocking a convincing 10.75s to blaze past Asher-Smith, who surprised with a Season's Best (SB) of 10.85s, while Jackson settled for third in 10.94s.

It is Jackson's second consecutive loss since winning the Jamaican trials in a world-leading 10.65s, after losing to Sha'Carri Richardson at the Silesia Diamond League a week ago.

Consequently, Ta Lou extended her winning streak to a seventh run, strengthening her position as a top favourite for the world title in Budapest.

The women's 100m event at the world championships in August is one of the most unpredictable events as there are about five athletes capable of challenging for the title, having defending champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and NCAA champion Julien Alfred still in the mix.
