Jamaica's versatile sprinter Shericka Jackson will compete in her first race of the 2024 season at the JAAA PUMA Fuller/Anderson Development Meet.
World 200m champion Shericka Jackson is set for her 2024 season opener at the JAAA PUMA Fuller/Anderson Development Meet this weekend.
Jackson is scheduled to compete in the 60m event against other top Jamaican sprinters, who will also be racing in their first race of the season.
The 60m list includes Natasha Morrison, the Clayton sisters Tina and Tia, youngster Serena Cole, 400m hurdler Janieve Russell, as well as Bahamian Anthonique Strachan and quarter-miler Sada Williams from Barbados.
Last season, Jackson began her record-breaking year at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in the same event and finished in a time of 7.34s. She'll later lower this time in subsequent races, blazing to 7.23s and 7.18s to close her indoor season.

This time around, the world's fastest woman in the 200m event will be racing the 60m outdoors as there are no indoor tracks in Jamaica, and will be gunning to begin on a good note in preparation for the World Indoor Championships and Paris Olympic Games.
Meanwhile, the men's 60m will be spearheaded by Jamaica's fastest man last season Kishane Thompson, while other top athletes are Rohan Watson and Tajay Gayle.
