“The Olympics has been very weird and it has certainly been the worst I have been to and it’s from the warm up area, to the training tracks, to how they operate inside the stadium, it’s all very amateurish,” Francis said.
“Paris the city is great but how all these organised and executed at least as far as athletes are concerned is extremely poor,” he added.
Speaking about Jackson’s withdrawal from the 200m, coach Francis explained that the two-time world champion is now just having a rest as she looks to bounce back better.
He added that the reason behind Jackson’s withdrawal from the event was because she was not confident enough in how she would have run.
“I’m sure she’ll be resting and trying to get it recovered so that she can continue her career in the sport and I’m sure it will be brighter than before. She just could not run at the speed she needed to run confidently and I think that was the main reason,” the tactician noted.
About Kishane Thompson’s performance, the tactician expressed disappointment in his starts but noted that getting a silver medal on his debut in such a strong field was something to be marveled at.

Paris 2024 Olympics: Heavily strapped Zablon Ekwam pulls up injured midway into 400m heat
Zablon Ekwam was eliminated from the Paris Olympics after injuring his hamstring during the qualifying heats.
Francis added that following his struggle with injuries, it was a huge breakthrough for him to go out there and show his potential without having doubts.
“I think Kishane performed very well today owing to the fact that he has been having hamstring issues and he had to work very hard and I think it was very creditable and courageous of him to run the way he did. He was disappointed in his starts and I certainly was too,” Francis said.
“He did well and that gives him something to look forward to for the rest of the season and for the next seasons and hopefully that will make the future even better.”
