Reigning London and Chicago Marathon champion Sifan Hassan took her preparations for Sunday’s Tokyo Marathon a notch higher by training on the corridors of her hotel.
Chicago Marathon champion Sifan Hassan is leaving nothing to chance in a bid to win the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday morning.
Hassan, who is looking for a third marathon victory in less than one year, has been training even at the corridors of her hotel in Tokyo since arriving in the Japanese capital a few days ago.
Unfazed by the onlookers, Hassan could be seen jogging around the corridors of the hotel in a bid to stay in shape ahead of the race.

Dutch woman Sifan Hassan is not resting on her laurels as she looks to dethrone defending champion Rosemary Wanjiru at Sunday's Tokyo Marathon.
Hassan, who claimed wins at the 2023 London and Chicago marathons, is seeking to become third time lucky in Tokyo where she is up against a stellar cast that includes Kenya’s Rosemary Wanjiru, who is the defending champion, Valencia Marathon champion Amone Berisho of Ethiopia and homegirl Hitomi Niiya.
The Ethiopian-born Dutchwoman has already expressed her intentions to break the course record of 2:16:02 set by Brigid Kosgei during the 2021 edition.
“I have prepared well for this race…I mean the period between after the Chicago Marathon and now. I’m going for a course record,” Hassan said during the pre-race press conference.
