Kampala is a 200m runner who even scooped bronze in the Ultimate Race Nights in Dubai in March this year after running 23.09 seconds, which is his personal best to date.

Months after joining college in the United States, athlete Solomon Kampala Kyagulanyi is very much keeping his dreams as a sportsman alive.

The son of musician-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has joined the Texas A&M Corpus Christi track team.

The youngster made the revelation upon linking up with the American based via his official Instagram account.

"I recently joined the Texas A&M Corpus Christi track team. I am grateful for this opportunity," Kampala revealed.

"And I'm excited to start my collegiate track and field career at the Division One level. The future is bright," he summed.

Kampala is a 200m runner who even scooped bronze in the Ultimate Race Nights in Dubai in March this year after running 23.09 seconds, which is his personal best to date.

In Apirl this year still, in the national athletics trials, Kampala missed out on a spot in the national team going to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, by a whisker.

He ran 24.72 seconds to finish third in his heat as eventual winner Allan Ngobi finished with 21.08 seconds.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the Texas A&M Corpus Christi has the 'Fall 2023 Intramural Sports Program' that provides students with various recreational sports and activities.

The sports disciplines offered in the program include athletics, football, netball, basketball, American football, tennis, and board games, among others.
