With the Zurich Diamond League the next stop for the women's 100m event, track fans are clamoring for a rematch between Sha'Carri Richardson and Julien Alfred.
Track fans are requesting for a Sha'Carri Richardson and Julien Alfred rematch ahead of the Zurich Diamond League, believing that a statement still needs to be made by both speedsters.
Richardson and Alfred last met in the 100m final at the Paris Olympics, where the St Lucian star sprinter powered her way to the history books in a new personal best of 10.71s ahead of the American.
Following the Olympic final, many thought that Richardson wasn't at her best after the mishap a few hours before her semifinal race, where she and the legendary Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce were denied entry into one of the stadium gates for not arriving with their country's team bus, which could have taken a toll on her physically and mentally.
While Alfred will go on to win a silver medal in the 200m final behind Gabby Thomas, the American champion will go on to anchor Team USA's 4x100m squad to the title and cap off her maiden Olympic outing in style.

Big gains for Noah Lyles and Sha'Carri Richardson as they top social charting record post-Paris Olympics
Noah Lyles and Sha'Carri Richardson lead a social media chart as well as five other track and field stars post-Paris Olympics.
Since then, both track stars haven't competed at any meet and fans feel it's high time a rematch was had at the Zurich Diamond League on September 5 as a final score needs to be settled before the season ends.
Here are some fan reactions below
An X user said: "I wanna say Sha'carri, but I think Julien may want to make a statement. I don't know. If Sha'carri gets a good start, then it could go either way. I'm just looking forward to this rematch."
Another wrote: "Sha'carri. She has to have a good start though."
Another user feels there can be a stunning surprise and neither of them winning. "I love how we all have eyes on Juju or Carri. Dina could decide that this is her race and come through with a new PB."
A third said: "I think Julien but it'll depend where they put ShaCarri she doesn't do particularly well in an inside lane."
"Alfred, Sha’carri hasn’t shown the best end of season form yet in her career and Alfred seems to maintain a solid consistent level."
