The hot take by an X user on the business side of Armand Duplantis breaking his World Record by 1cm has gotten track fans divided.
An athletics fan has shared an epic take on Armand Mondo Duplantis' business side of always breaking the pole vault World Record in most of his meets, with his latest display at the Silesia Diamond League.
Unarguably the greatest of all time in the men's pole vault event, Duplantis cleared 6.26m to earn his 10th world record, adding a centimetre to the mark he established in retaining his Olympic title in Paris earlier this month.

Duplantis and Ingebrigtsen's world records overwhelm impeccable performances at Silesia Diamond League
How it went down at the Silesia Diamond League with 2 World Records, 10 Meeting Records, and 2 National Records on a day filled with impeccable performances.
By doing this, the 24-year-old Swedish star athlete has rewritten the world record ten times in his career with his progression stated below.
2020 - 6.17m to 6.18m
2022 - 6.19m to 6.20m and 6.21m
2023 - 6.22m to 6.23m
2024 - 6.24m to 6.25m and 6.26m
From the progression, this means Duplantis adds 1cm to his mark every time he breaks the world record - a situation in which a fan has given a take on the business side of it.
"This man is clearing 6.50 minimum at home but is taking it 1 cm at a time to get 100k each time and I respect it," quoted an X user to @EuroAthletics post.
From his post, the X user is suggesting that Duplantis has a minimum capacity to clear a huge world record of 6.50m at a go, but because he can earn about $100,000 more each time he breaks the record, the Olympic champion decides to clear by just 1cm every time he attempts.
The money comes from his brand endorsement with PUMA, which he's offered every time he sets a new world record in addition to the bonuses he gets for winning meets and championships. To buttress this, for setting the new world record in Silesia, Duplantis pocketed $50,000 for his performance by points.
His hot take is now going rival with many suggesting that Duplantis is just being business smart on making as much as he can with each centimetre rather than just scaling a big world record height once for the same amount.
