More than Ksh 15 million has been set aside for the top 10 finishers at Sunday's Frankfurt Marathon.

The 2023 edition of the Frankfurt Marathon takes place on Sunday, October 29 with millions set aside for athletes who finish among the top 10.

Some of the Kenyans headlining the field include World Half Marathon bronze medallist Samwel Mailu and Brimin Misoi in the men’s race.

According to the race organisers, the winners of the race, both men and women will have the honour of walking away with more than Ksh 4 million for a fast-paced race. For a slow-paced race, the winners will pocket more than Ksh3 million.

The athletes who finish second in the race will pocket approximately Ksh2 million for a fast-paced race while for a slow-paced race, the athletes will pocket Ksh1 million.

Athletes who finish third and fourth in a fast-paced race will pocket approximately Ksh one million and Ksh950,000. For a slow-paced race, they will walk away with approximately Ksh1 million and Ksh790,000 respectively.

The fifth, sixth, and seventh-place finishers in a fast-paced race will pocket more than Ksh600,000, Ksh400,000, and Ksh300,000. For the slow-paced race, the athletes will pocket approximately Ksh550,000, Ksh390,000 and Ksh230,000 respectively.

The athletes who finish eighth, ninth, and 10th in the fast-paced race will pocket more than Ksh230,000, Ksh150,000 and Ksh70,000. In the slow-paced race, the athletes will pocket Ksh155,000, Ksh100,000 and Ksh60,000.
