Obiri put up a good fight to win the race in 2:27:23 ahead of Letesenbet Gidey and defending champion Sharon Lokedi who finished second and third in respective times of 2:27:29 and 2:27:33.

Hellen Obiri, who finished sixth last year, cut the tape in 2:27:23 ahead of Letesenbet Gidey and defending champion Sharon Lokedi who finished second and third respectively.
With her win, Obiri will have the pride of walking away with Ksh15,060,000. Gidey, who finished second, will pocket Ksh Ksh9,036,000 while Lokedi, who finished third, will pocket Ksh6,024,000.
According to the race organisers, the fourth and fifth-place finishers will also rake in a windfall since they will be awarded Ksh3,765,000 and Ksh2,259,000 respectively.
