Noah Lyles’ fiancée Junelle Bromfield agrees with Kishane Thompson, Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell on the aggressive nature of Jamaican fans.
Junelle Bromfield saw the wrath of the fans in the build up to the Paris Olympics and even after the global showpiece. The two-time Olympian had been spilling secrets to her American boyfriend Noah Lyles and the Jamaicans did not like it.
They attacked her online with some even messaging her with threats in her DM’s and that’s when she knew they have two extremes, it’s either they love you so much or they come at you so hard when you do something that violates them.

'I could never go to school here'- Jamaican athlete Junelle Bromfield reveals reason she doesn't fancy Noah Lyles' America
Junelle Bromfield, fiancée to Olympic champion Noah Lyles has revealed why she wouldn't have been able to school in Lyles' home country USA.
Junelle Bromfield told Sim Soul Sessions that the fans are very quick to criticize and they never care about what an athlete is going through behind the scenes. She cited an example of when her mother was in the hospital and she was unable to run faster times as people expected.
She added that the athletes make a lot of sacrifices and work hard and demanded that they are appreciated enough since they deserve it. Such unfortunate things have made Junelle Bromfield think about quitting running the track.
“Leading up to the Olympics, so much happened on the internet and I was like, ‘Do I really want to do this and especially do it for this country, like Jamaica.’ We are not appreciated…we do so much, like we do so much, like we train really hard and sacrifice a lot,” Junelle Bromfield said.
“Even with my family, when my mother was in the hospital, I struggled to go home because it was COVID time and I struggled. I didn’t drive then and I had to take a bus and I’m not going to lie, it was difficult. When you are running slow, everyone has something to say and they didn’t know what was going on,” she added.
She added that Oblique Seville has been very impressive and placed the Jamaican flag on the world map since Usain Bolt’s retirement but the fans do not see that. Bromfield also touched on the unfortunate happenings at the Paris Olympic Games.
The Jamaican quarter miler noted that they never appreciated Kishane Thompson’s silver medal and instead, focused on attacking her boyfriend, Noah Lyles. She slammed their acts, adding that the athletes deserve better.

'The sport will move on without you'- American sprint legend Justin Gatlin cautions athletes against impulsive use of wealth in an unforgiving sport
Justin Gatlin has urged athletes to have caution in dealing with their wealth due to the unpredictable and unforgiving nature of track and field
“They judge so much and I feel like they are only there for the glory but they don’t appreciate us. I used a perfect example the other day, the 100m final, a Jamaican had not gotten a medal at the Olympics or World Championships and Oblique was the first man to make the final in 2022 I believe so,” she revealed.
“If he is not healthy and does not get a medal, it’s a problem and then Kishane came along. He got a silver medal at the biggest stage; the Olympics and they were on the internet and saying Noah should not get a medal. They were just fighting the results and throwing medal instead of appreciating the medal.”
Meanwhile, Kishane Thompson also noted that Jamaicans hold athletics in very high regard and revealed that they always expect athletes to win gold medals and can’t take in anything lesser than that.
