The fans took to their social media handles, with some claiming that Noah Lyles was not the rightful winner of the men's 100m final at the Paris Olympics.

Following the women’s 100m and 200m disappointments from the women at the Paris Olympics, Jamaican fans were eagerly waiting for Kishane Thompson and Oblique Seville to impress in the men’s 100m final.

However, triple world champion Noah Lyles spoiled the party, taking the win in a time of 9.79 ahead of Thompson who clocked the same time, with the only difference being in microseconds. Fred Kerley completed the podium in the race, clocking 9.81 to cross the finish line.

Oblique Seville, after beating Lyles in the semifinal faded to ninth-place, crossing the finish line in 9.91 to sink the hearts of Jamaican fans.

Following the upset, Jamaican fans took it to their X handle to express their frustrations, with some noting that Thompson was the rightful winner of the men’s 100m.

“They robbed Kishane. Kmt,” a fan said, adding that “KISHANE clearly WON! They rigging this in his favor.”

Another fan shared: “I just realize Noah Lyles is universally disliked. Kerley and other sprinters don’t like him. The 400m runners don’t like him. NBA twitter hates him. Team Jamaica minus Junelle nuh like him. Damn everybody hates Lyles.”

“He did not win this race. They are giving it to him,” another fuming fan shared on her X handle.

“Noah Lyles girl is Jamaican we still win,” another fan joked about Lyles’ nationality as he is dating Jamaican quarter-miler Junelle Bromfield.

Another fan asked: “But the points were the same. 9.79 so why did they give it to him?”

Another fan noted: “Anyways Noah Lyles may be the Olympic gold medalist but he is NOT the fastest man alive.”

An angry fan shared on the timeline, highlighting that Jamaicans still dominate the sprints with the fastest man alive being world record holder Usain Bolt. The X user added that Kishane Thompson remains the fastest man in the world following his 9.77 at the Jamaican Olympic trials.

“FASTEST MAN ALIVE = USAIN BOLT (9.58), FASTEST ACTIVE MAN = YOHAN BLAKE (9.69), FASTEST MAN IN THE WORLD THIS YEAR = KISHANE THOMPSON (9.77), WORLD CHAMPION = NOAH LYLES, OLYMPIC CHAMPION = NOAH LYLES. AS EASY AS THAT," the post read.
