The World Cross Country Championships are coming up this Saturday, March 30 in Belgrade, Serbia and there are a few things that are important to note ahead of the event.
Defending champions Beatrice Chebet and Jacob Kiplimo return for the senior women’s and men’s races title defenses and they will be hoping to stun the world one more time with their scintillating runs.

2) Schedule of events in EAT
The first event of the day will be the women’s under-20 final race scheduled for 1:00 pm and then the second race will be the men’s under-20 final race at 1:35 pm.
The mixed relay final is scheduled for 2:15 pm with the senior women’s and men’s races following at 2:45 pm and 3:30 pm respectively.
3) Prize money
As per World Athletics, the men’s and women’s winners in the senior categories will walk away with $30,000 (Ksh3.9 million). The second and third-place finishers will pocket Ksh1.9 million and Ksh1.3 million respectively.

Reigning World Cross Country champion Jacob Kiplimo has disclosed his greatest challenger at the global bonanza scheduled for Saturday as he fired warning shots at his opponents.
The athletes who finish fourth will bag Ksh927,500 while the fifth and sixth-place finishers will bag Ksh662,500 and Ksh397,500 respectively. In the mixed relay, the first team to cross the finish line will walk away with Ksh1.5 million while those who finish second and third will bag Ksh1 million and Ksh795,000 respectively. The athletes who finish fourth will pocket Ksh530,000.
The team that finishes first with the highest number of medals will walk away with Ksh2.6 million while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will bag Ksh2.1 million, Ksh1.5 million, and Ksh1.3 million. The team to finish fifth and sixth will be awarded Ksh 1 million and Ksh530,000 respectively.
