World Record holder Tobi Amusan mentioned the three things she loves about Jamaica.

Nigeria's track legend Tobi Amusan has revealed her love for her coach's country after competing at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational.

The reigning World Record (WR) holder produced one of the highlight performances of the meet by winning the women's 100mH event in an impressive world-leading time of 12.40s, thus defeating homegirl and reigning world champion Danielle Williams.

More intriguing was that she won the race from a poor start and recovered timely to outrun her peers, giving the vibes that she may be in her WR shape two years ago.

"We have work to do and looking at the way I executed today, it could be better but I'm just thankful," said Amusan in a post-race interview with sportsmaxtv.

When asked if her victory was a redemption from the disappointment of being disqualified for a false start in her last race at the Suzhou Diamond League, the former world champion said it was just another lesson learned.

"I won't call it a redemption, there's always a lesson from every race, you don't want to lose. It's just was like a confidence booster for me. I didn't get points, I didn't get the time, and I didn't get the win but knowing that I crossed the finish line first, mentally I knew that I was in my space."

Amusan also disclosed her love for Jamaica, stating she's ready to have their passport.

"This is home. My coach is Jamaican, my coach's husband, my friend, Danielle is Jamaican, give me my passport."

Amusan will compete next at the Atalanta City Games on May 18, where she's scheduled to face former WR holder Keni Harrison.
