Tobi Amusan's World Record performance of 12.12s entered the top 20 best moments in World Championships history.

Nigeria's Tobi Amusan's World Record (WR) moment in Oregon has been voted as the thirteenth best in World Championships history.

The World Athletics governing body started the 40 best moments series to mark the 40th anniversary of the World Athletics Championships.

Fans of athletics globally were asked to vote for the greatest moments from the past four decades of championship action.

Thousands of fans took part, and after the votes were counted, Amusan's semifinal race at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon, where she ran a historic women's 100m Hurdles WR of 12.12s made the top 20 list.

Her race saw the top four finishers clock lifetime bests and others' season's bests, making it the best hurdling race in athletics history.

Less than two hours later, the sprint hurdlers were back on track for the final. Once again, Amusan produced a stunning race to cross the finish line first and become Nigeria's first outdoor world champion.

This time, she went even faster, clocking 12.06s. The wind speed of 2.5m/s was over the allowable limit for record purposes, but it backed up her world record mark from the semifinals.

Amusan is the only Nigerian athlete on the best moments list and one of the few African athletes chosen.
