Nigeria's Tobi Amusan will return to hurdling action against some of the world's best hurdlers, gunning to extend her unbeaten run.

Tobi Amusan will make her second season appearance at the Tom Jones Invitational this weekend, when she races against some of the world's best in the 100m Hurdles and 100m events.

In the 100m Hurdles, the World Champion will go against former World Champions Nia Ali (2019) and Danielle Williams (2015), gunning to defeat them and kick off her 100mH season on an impressive note.

Also listed in the stacked lineup are Devyne Charlton (World Championships finalist and Commonwealth silver medallist), Anna Hall (World Championships heptathlon bronze medallist), Jamaica's Kerrica Hill, and American duo of Gabbi Cunningham and Jade Barber.

Amusan is the favourite to win this race as the World Record (WR) holder with 12.12s. However, with the challenge posed by the stacked lineup, an upset may occur at the end of the day.

Amusan has a Personal Best (PB) of 11.14s recorded last year, so kicking off by running close or lowering this time will be a great start to the season in her build-up to successfully defending her World title in Budapest.

Also listed in the 100m list is European champion Gina Luckenkemper, American trio of Celera Barnes, Brittany Brown, and Kortnei Johnson, China's Liang Xiaojing, Jamaica's Kiara Grant, and Charlton returning as well after competing in the 100mH.

Amusan made her 2023 season's debut at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn last month, winning the 200m event in 23.38s.
