Tobi Amusan won the gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles at the Commonwealth Games in Australia and Birmingham, marking a historic achievement as she became the first Nigerian Track and Field athlete to successfully defend her Commonwealth title by winning back-to-back gold medals.

Sports announced for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games has announced its exciting lineup of sports, featuring a mix of traditional and emerging disciplines.

Track cycling and boxing will make their debut at the Commonwealth Games. Athletics and swimming remain core sports in the program.

The games will be held across four venues in Glasgow from July 23 to August 2, 2026.

Glasgow stepped in to host after Victoria, Australia withdrew due to rising costs as over 3,000 athletes from 74 Commonwealth nations and territories are expected to compete.
