Amusan attended the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) in college and was a standout athlete during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Her accomplishments were highlighted by multiple school records, capturing the 2017 NCAA title in the 100m Hurdles and being named the 2016 and 2017 C-USA Female Track Athlete of the Year.
