A top American pole vaulter has revealed her favourite Kenyan athletes as she predicted the evolvement of field events in the country.
Two-time World pole vault champion Katie Moon is in awe of top Kenyan athletes who have placed Kenya on the world map.
In an exclusive interview, Moon disclosed that the world is definitely aware of the athletes’ distance running prowess which has made them very competitive.
The Olympic champion singled out the likes of double world record holder Faith Kipyegon, multiple World champion Vivian Cheruiyot, and reigning 800m world record holder David Rudisha.

“I think we are obviously very familiar with distance running in Kenyan athletes since they are always competitive and always on the top.
"Actually, David Rudisha is one of the main athletes you think of…he has run massive times and it is really cool to see them dominate,” the American said.
She added that they also have the potential to impress in the field events just like they do on the track and the roads.
“Obviously they have dominated the distance events but then I think there is absolute potential in the field events.
“Well, I’m not as familiar with Kenyan culture and what opportunities are there for kids to try other events.
“I think just having those athletes succeed at the highest level is bringing track and field to Kenya will get more kids excited to try different events,” she said.

Tata Mumbai Marathon organisers have announced the millions up for grabs for runners as they unveiled their International Event Ambassador.
Meanwhile, Moon is currently in India ahead of the Tata Mumbai Marathon on Sunday, January 21 after she was unveiled as the International Event Ambassador.
The 19th edition of the marathon, a World Athletics Gold Label Race, is also offering a mouth-watering prize money of Ksh 63,277,200 for top performing athletes.
