The 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships took place in Belgrade, Serbia, on Saturday, with Jacob Kiplimo the headlining act of the day.
The Ugandan long distance runner successfully defended his Senior Men's Cross Country gold, having clocked 28:09 to beat Ethiopia's Berihu Aregawi and Benson Kiplangat (third).

WORLD ATHLETICS CROSS COUNTRY All-female Athlete Refugee Team makes history in Belgrade
The Belgrade quartet are Esterina Irino Julius, Anjelina Nadai Lohalith and Perina Lokure Nakang – the trio of South Sudanese origin based in Kenya – plus Farida Abaroge, an Ethiopian refugee based in France. Additionally, the four had an all-female support team, with Janeth Jepkosgei as head coach.
