Nigeria's Imaobong Uko qualified for the 400m final at the BIG 12 Indoor Championships, but Ella Onojuvwevwo sadly misses out.

Ella Onojuvwevwo sadly missed out on qualifying for the 400m final at the South Eastern Conference (SEC) Indoor Championships, running her second-fastest indoor 400m time of 52.13s to place second in the prelims.

The Louisiana State University freshman will now compete next in the 4x400m relays, gunning to help her team qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Consequently, Imaobong Uko also made it through to the 400m final at the BIG 12 Indoor Championships, racing to a Season's Best (SB) of 53.20s.

Her time was fourth fastest overall, so building on this time in the final will give her a huge chance to finish in the top 8 and secure a spot at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Both athletes are two of the best Nigerian quarter-milers in the country, which bodes for a bright future for the event as they continue to push each other to succeed.
