Bolt responds to Shannon Sharpe's claims that both Tyreek Hill and Christian Coleman are faster than the Jamaican sprint legend over 40 yards.

Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt has responded to Shannon Sharpe's bold claims that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill would easily defeat him in a 40-yard dash.

The former NFL tight end, regarded as one of the greatest of all time, made these statements on the Night Cap podcast, dismissing Bolt's speed post-retirement.

Sharpe, who ranks third in tight end receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, and was the first NFL tight end to amass over 10,000 receiving yards, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

Despite his illustrious football career, Sharpe ventured into the realm of track and field comparisons, stirring controversy.

"Probably Tyreek," Sharpe said, adding, "Usain Bolt has probably not run since he last ran the 2017 World Championships in which he won the bronze, so I will take Tyreek."

Sharpe did not stop there. He further suggested that sprinter Christian Coleman is faster than both Hill and Bolt, stating, "Christian Coleman. Blow the doors off Tyreek. You see how Christian Coleman gets off the block?"

Coleman, known for his explosive starts, has dominated short sprints, winning gold in the 60-meter race at the World Indoor Championships and claiming silver at the 2017 World Athletics Championships, where Bolt secured bronze and Justin Gatlin took gold.

Usain Bolt, however, found Sharpe's claims amusing. The sprinting icon, who holds the world records for the 100 meters and 200 meters, responded on X (formerly Twitter) by quote-tweeting Sharpe's comments and stating, "Not even in a next universe."

Tyreek Hill, nicknamed 'Cheetah' for his incredible speed, has made a name for himself in the NFL. Initially playing primarily as a return specialist, Hill transitioned to playing wide receiver.

He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his eight seasons in the league, won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs, and was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team as a punt returner.

Despite Hill's remarkable achievements and speed, the comparison to Usain Bolt, often considered the fastest man in history, remains contentious.

As Bolt humorously pointed out, his dominance on the track is not something to be easily overshadowed, even by the swiftest NFL stars.
