The 2021 World Under-20 1500m champion Vincent Keter has now switched his focus to cross-country.
Keter has been confirmed as one of the leading entrants for the Cardiff Cross Challenge where he will be making his debut in the cross-country.

James Mwangi was the winner of the 2022 Porto Marathon but his position now remains pending owing to a doping case that is yet to be resolved.
In a post on their X (Twitter) handle, the Cardiff Cross Challenge race organisers expressed their excitement as they announced that Keter will be attending the event.
“Our International men's field is headed by 2021 1500m champion (U20) Vincent Keter. Also featuring athletes from Burundi, Ethiopia, and Uganda,” the post read.
The 21-year-old shifts focus to the cross-country after a mixed season. He started off his season with an indoor tour where he competed in three races.
He started off with the Folksam GP Stockholm Indoor 2023 where he finished second before finishing seventh at the Meeting de l'Eure and finishing ninth at the Meeting Metz Moselle Athlelor.
In his outdoor tour, he finished third at the Kip Keino Classic and then went on to finish fifth at the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix.
He went ahead to finish second at the National Championships and unfortunately missed out on the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary after finishing 10th during the trials. After the heartbreak, he proceeded to the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia where he finished sixth.
