Korir was 4th in heat 5 while Ferguson was 6th in heat 4.
Defending 800m Champion Emmanuel Korir's struggles on the track escalated as the US based athlete crashed out of the 2023 World Championships on Tuesday night. The Olympic champion could only muster a 4th placed finish in Heat 5 with a season's best time of 1:46.78.
This was not enough however, as faster paced athletes had already occupied the Q Room. His ouster alongside that of Ferguson Rotich in the left two outstanding Kenyans who ran in the earlier heats as the two contenders for the two-lap glory in Budapest.
