ATHLETICS Faith Kipyegon donates history-making spikes to the Museum of World Athletics
Double world record holder Faith Kipyegon has donated her history-making bright pink running spikes to the Museum of World Athletics.
The Polish runner then proceeded to the Czech Indoor Gala where she reigned supreme in the 60m race, clocking 7.07 to win the race.
Swoboda proved to be on fire on Tuesday night where she shattered Julien Alfred’s world-leading time of 7.04 that she set at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. She clocked 7.01 to win the race at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup, shining on home soil with a world-leading time.
After the race, she said: “I feel very good after today's performance. Each run is getting faster and faster which is motivating. That's how it's supposed to be. I'm glad the Italian was pushing me from behind. It was an additional motivation to run faster.
"Today's run is a great forecast before the upcoming Polish Championships and World Indoor Championships. My only goal at the moment is to train in health for these two events."
Last season, Swoboda made it to the final of the 100m at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where she finished sixth. She was also in action at the European Championships where she finished second in the 60m.
She has been off to a great start this season and if she manages to maintain her consistency, she might just be the next 100m star.
