The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) head Brett Clothier has stated his disappointment with the Disciplinary Tribunal decision clearing Tobi Amusan of not committing an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV).

In a press release by the AIU, a panel of the Disciplinary Tribunal, by majority decision, found that Amusan has not committed an ADRV of three whereabouts failures within 12 months.

In response to this, Clothier stated his disappointment and will decide whether to exercise its right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

"The AIU is disappointed by the decision and will review the reasoning in detail before deciding whether to exercise its right of appeal to the CAS within the applicable deadline. The decision is currently confidential but will be published in due course," wrote Clothier in the release.

The World Record holder and world champion's provisional suspension has now been lifted with immediate effect, and cleared to compete at the World Championships in Budapest, starting Saturday, August 17.

Amusan is now back as favourite to defend her world title, and if successful, she'll become Nigeria's first double-world champion in history.
