'We've not stopped talking since high school' - The Woodhalls narrate their love story

The love story of Hunter and Tara Davis-Woodhall from their teenage years to the Olympics.

The Woodhalls - Tara Davis and Hunter are a major force in track and field, with their influence and popularity witnessing a meteoric rise after the Paris Olympic Games.

They were nicknamed the 'Golden Couple' of the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris after the lovebirds smashed the media space with their exceptional affection for each other and their performances.

The charismatic couple won gold medals in their respective events, first Tara soaring to the women's long jump title during the Olympics, and her husband, a US double amputee sprinter propelled his prosthetic blades to Paralympic gold in the T62 400m.

It was the first Olympic and Paralympic titles in the Woodhall's careers - after Hunter won a bronze medal in the one-lap event at the Tokyo Games three years ago.

Following the end of the global championship, The Woodhalls have appeared in several TV programs and functions, with their social media numbers and impressions having gigantic numbers, as many are now glued on their love story.

In an interaction with fellow Olympic champions Noah Lyles and Rai Benjamin on Beyond The Records podcast, Tara and Hunter Woodhall narrated their romantic journey right from when they met and how they've not stopped talking since then.

"I shot my shot," said Tara when asked by Benjamin who shot their shot first.

"He was tweeting one night and I was like aren't you supposed to be in bed? He's like I'm just waiting for you," she continued. "We were at a track meet in high school and he was running it was his birthday and the announcer was like Hunter Woodhall, it's his birthday, happy 18th birthday, and kept on saying, Hunter.

"So I was like who the hell is Hunter? At some point, he was walking to me and I was walking to him and I said I don't know why I'm doing this but I feel like I have to hug you. Ever since then, we have not stopped talking."

The Woodhalls Olympic success in Paris makes them the most famous athletics power couples and they'll be hoping to continue to break grounds in the 2025 season and for several years.
