Newly crowned two-time World Cross Country champion Beatrice Chebet has disclosed her next destination after her dominant show that saw her emerge victorious in Belgrade, Serbia on Saturday.
Two-time World Cross Country champion Beatrice Chebet has opened up on her ambitious plans after claiming her second successive cross-country title in the senior women’s race in Belgrade, Serbia.
Chebet oozed class as she proceeded to cut the tape in 31:05 ahead of Lilian Kasait and Margaret Chelimo who finished second and third in 31:08 and 31:09 respectively. Athletes now shift their focus to the Olympic Games in Paris, France, and Chebet is not an exception.
The World 5000m bronze medallist is planning to launch her Olympic campaign at the Diamond League Meeting in Doha, Qatar unlike thousands of athletes who have already confirmed participation in the league opener in Xiamen, China.

Multiple world champion Vivian Cheruiyot will be heading to the Paris Marathon on Sunday, April 7 with one major goal in mind.
Other athletes will also be hoping to compete at the Kip Keino Classic scheduled for April 20, the same date as the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen.
In an interview, the former World 5000m silver medallist disclosed that she will be eyeing a slot in the 5000m and she hopes to impress one more time.

“As we speak about the Olympics, I know many athletes will kickstart their campaign on April 20th in Xiamen and Kenya. I will be heading to Doha to begin my track season there as I prepare for the Olympics.
“I want to compete in the 5000m and I know everything is possible because we prepare the same where starting with the cross country,” the reigning world 5km record holder said.
On winning the cross country on Saturday, Chebet disclosed that hard work and perseverance are the things that worked for her well.
With about 500m to go, she felt stronger to unleash a finishing kick and things worked out well as she had planned.
