Team Canada wasn't happy with Noah Lyles's statement at the World Relays, which has now seen them respond and now established a 4x100m rivalry between both countries ahead of the Paris Olympic Games.

World's fastest man Noah Lyles is making the headlines again for his arrogant rivalry comment against Canada after anchoring USA to the 4x100m World Relays title in the Bahamas.

USA dominated the World Relays by winning four gold medals in five races they competed, thus leaving the meet as the best relay nation in the world.

Their men’s 4x100m team of Courtney Lindsey, Kenny Bednarek, Kyree King, and Lyles teamed up to run a world-leading 37.40s, which almost broke the championship record of 37.38s also set by USA in Nassau but in 2015, during the second edition of the event.

That same US quartet had run 37.49s to win the heats, and they were similarly dominant in the final, winning by almost half a second ahead of 2022 world champions Canada, anchored Olympic 200m champion Andre De Grasse, who crossed the finish line in 37.89s.

In a post-race interview with Citius Mag, Lyles threw a jab in his response to a journalist's question asking about the rivalry between Canada and USA ahead of the Paris Olympic Games.

"Rivalry Between Who?

Who?

Who?”

Athletics Canada has now reciprocated with a video flashback of defeating USA on their home soil.

"Let’s see who stands on business in Paris…

Until then, here is the Men’s 4x100 Relay team’s World Championship performance winning on American soil."

In sports, individual or team rivalries are vital ingredients, keeping fans and athletes engaged, which boosts visibility and marketability.

With a rivalry established between USA and Canada ahead of Paris, fans can anticipate a mouth-watering clash in the men's 4x100m event, still having countries like reigning Olympic champions Italy and Great Britain in the mix to challenge for the bragging rights.
