Elaine Thompson-Herah will be chasing history and hoping to follow in Usain Bolt's footsteps at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The fastest woman alive, Elaine Thompson-Herah will be seeking to make a grand return to the Olympic Games in Paris, France with the hope of defending her 100m and 200m individual titles.

Thompson will also hope to propel the Jamaican team to victory in the 4x100m women’s relay and replicate the delayed 2020 Toyo Olympic Games performance.

If Thompson is successful in defending her titles at the upcoming Olympic Games, she will be the only athlete to have managed to replicate Usain Bolt's triple-double feat at the Olympics.

Jamaica is the only country that has produced male and female athletes, who have repeated the sprint double victory at the Olympics.

Not only is the triple-double a distinct possibility for Thompson-Herah, but she could rewrite history, by becoming the sole owner of the sprint double World Records and the sprint double Olympic Records.

The Jamaican suffered an injury setback that made her 2023 season a nightmare. The 31-year-old was not able to compete in an individual event at the World Championships. She was selected to compete in the 4x100m relay team which settled for silver.

As the 2023 season was ending, Thompson confirmed that she would be changing coaches. She dropped her former coach Shanikie Osbourne, and joined Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce’s coach, Reynaldo Walcott.
