Richardson is the second-fastest 100m sprinter this year and she has had an unbeaten run so far.

American sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson is not revealing her plans as she heads to the World Championships scheduled for August 19 to 27 in Budapest, Hungary.

Just like her arch-rival Shericka Jackson, Richardson revealed that she has written down what she wants to achieve and it remains a secret.

“As for the World Championships - I know what I want to achieve, but I am not going to say it. I wrote it down for myself,” she said in a post-race interview after winning the 100m at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia, Poland.

Richardson is the second-fastest 100m sprinter this year and she has had an unbeaten run so far. At the just concluded Diamond League Meeting in Silesia, she defeated World 200m champion Jackson for the second time this year.

She was just from competing at the USA Championships where she reigned supreme from the heats all the way to the final of the 100m and directly qualified for the World Championships.

Speaking about her race in Silesia, Richardson said: “It was an amazing race, I am really having fun. The 10.76…I love the time. I put a great race together. This was a great competition, it was amazing. I executed it correctly.

I love the atmosphere here. I wish we could replicate this in the US. All the energy, all the love from the audience. I was satisfied with my race altogether.”

The 23-year-old also called upon athletes to unite and speak up for themselves if they want to emerge prosperous in their careers.

Richardson revealed that her dream is to see athletes take responsibility for themselves and have their own union since they are the ones who know what goes on behind the scenes and they understand their challenges to the core.

She concluded by saying: “Before our nationals, I told the other athletes "Let´s unite, let´s get together." It is time for us athletes to take responsibility for ourselves. We, athletes, should have our own union.

We want to take it back into our own hands. It has not yet been released or founded, but you will know when we speak out.”
