Meanwhile, National champion Boniface Mweresa failed to proceed to the semifinal of the 400m at the World Championships.
Mweresa was in Heat One and he fizzled out to finish a distant seventh in 45.91. He was off to a good start but his opponents proved too strong for him and he ended up crossing the finish line last.
