Wiseman Were’s coach, Dennis Mwanzo, alias Venom is without a doubt, a man on a mission as he seeks to take the multiple national champion places come next season.
Mwanzo believes he still has a long way to go in terms of coaching but he is sure about taking the field by storm.
Speaking to Sports Eye, the tactician explained that he has been in the game for more than four years and he has managed to mark great milestones including guiding Were to the semifinal of the 400m Hurdles at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

“When I started coaching in 2018, I told myself I would take guys to places where I didn’t reach during my prime days.
Already, I have taken some guys to the World Championships, in Africa, and right now, I’m still targeting to go far.
Before I call myself a coach, I need to get a medal from the Olympics and World Championships and remain consistent. I’m still gaining experience and at the moment, my focus is to go to the Olympic Games and focus on the final.

Wiseman Were has already set his targets as he looks to enjoy a great 2024 season.
At the World Championships, we just stopped at the semifinal but now we have to focus on the final, and there, anything can happen,” the tactician said.
He added that he is focusing on all the athletes he is working with, with Were not being an exception. He added that there are some of his athletes who have already tasted what it feels like to be on the global stage and next year will be no different.
He noted that he believes in the work of his hands and he is sure his athletes will surely come out with a medal at the Olympic Games.
