The World Athletics Council has confirmed competition dates for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. These dates were made known at the 233rd World Athletics Council Meeting in Monaco on December 7-8.
According to the World Athletics website, competition timetables for the Race Walking Team Championships, Antalya 24, and the World U20 Championships, Lima 24.

Tobi Amusan joins Team Visa family ahead of Paris 2024 Olympic Games
Hurdling queen Tobi Amusan has teamed up with Visa as they support her dreams towards Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Race Walking Team Championships Antalya 24 will be held on 21 April 2024, and the World U20 Championships Lima 24 will take place across five days, from 27-31 August 2024.

The Council also confirmed the dates for the World Athletics Road Running Championships in San Diego 25 and World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee 26. The date for the World Athletics Road Running Championships San Diego 25 has been approved as 26-28 September 2025, and the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Tallahassee 26 will take place on 10 January 2026.

Nigeria likely not to have its flag hoisted at Paris Olympics as WADA's sanctions reach deadline day
Severe sanctions are awaiting Nigerian sports by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as Nigeria fails to comply with anti-doping rules.
World Athletics consulted with several athletes who would be expecting to compete in these championships, and they were overwhelmingly in favour of being able to complete the season as soon as possible after the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25.
