Double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah suffered a reported Achilles injury and needed to be carried off the track after her 100m race at the NYC Grand Prix.

Fans fear for Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah, who needed assistance to leave the track after her 100m race at the NYC Grand Prix.

The Jamaican track legend finished eighth in the race in 11.48s (-2.1) but immediately removed her spikes and was limping. A few moments later, she was carried off the track, and there are concerns that her Achilles injury suffered in the past two years may be back, thus may halt her progress ahead of the Jamaican trials and competing at the Paris Olympic Games.

She was later captured receiving treatment for a lower leg injury, and fans hope it won't be too serious to derail her Paris Olympic ambitions of gunning for a historic moment.
