In his latest video Blake has reacted to criticism after expressing frustration over lack of support from Jamaica.

Two-time Olympic champion Yohan Blake has publicly addressed the barrage of negative comments following a video in which he expressed frustration over the lack of respect and support from his native Jamaica.

The 2011 world 100m champion, who has been battling injuries and form issues, recently made headlines with his emotional outcry after a disappointing performance at the London Diamond League.

Blake's challenges this season have been numerous, culminating in a last-place finish in the 100m event in London, where he clocked a time of 10.23 seconds.

The race not only marked a low point in his season but also fueled his public frustration, which he voiced in a video released on Monday.

In the video, Blake lamented the lack of appreciation and support he has felt, particularly from his home country.

“Life is crazy, recently I spoke about how I feel and there was mixed emotions to be honest, with everybody, but I am saying this to say that, if you stay quiet they say you’re soft they say you’re weak, they say you’re pitty full,” Blake said in the video.

His comments continued to reflect his dismay and the critical judgment he has faced.

“Suh what can you do? noting to please anybody.” Blake went on to compare his struggles to the biblical accounts of Jesus facing opposition, suggesting a parallel in their challenges and misjudgments by others.

The sprinter's viral outcry came after a particularly revealing interview, where Blake voiced a strong sentiment of being undervalued by his fellow Jamaicans.

"My own country Jamaica doesn’t give me the respect and I’m happy they don’t because other people outside do and they appreciate me more than my own country," he stated during the interview.

This feeling of alienation is not new in the world of sports, where athletes often face immense pressure and scrutiny. Blake elaborated on the impact of public perception and criticism.

“Who is me who is you not to be judged or for people to not talk negative about or not to look down to… but the greatest thing about that is that you’re doing something right, if you find your self not being criticised about or not being talked about or something, that means you are doing something bad,” he explained.

In his video, which shows him driving, Blake also spoke about the dual nature of the world, highlighting the presence of both good and evil.

“You of to know what you are fighting for and believe that nothing can change your mindset, no one can dampen your feeling, this world is full of good and it’s full of evil,” he added.

The caption accompanying his video succinctly summed up his feelings: "Dogs don’t bark at parked cars."
