Nilayo Sports Ltd to sponsor 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball tourney in Abeokuta
The Ogun State Capital, Abeokuta, will host the maiden edition of the 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball Championship with Nigeria's foremost sports marketing company, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, as the official sponsor.
Confirming the development, the president of the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation, Seyi Johnson, said in an effort to revive the Federation and instill a feeling of community among the players around the nation who had been inactive for a while, the corporation decided to organize the championship, the first in eight years, from June 22–23, 2023.

Idia College, Benin City destroyed Usugbenu Technical College, Irrua, 7-0, and Benin Technical College defeated Ogbona Secondary School 2-1 to win the female and male categories.
Johnson, who was recently elected as the President of the Federation, says the players who, before their extended absence, were among the best in Africa and a bright spot on the international stage in both the men's and women's categories must immediately return to competitions and put an end to the forced vacations they have endured over the years.
He said, "I am very happy seeing the federation returned to what it used to be in the last eight years and most delighted that, the former Federation president, when the sport was at it highest point on the continent and indeed at the world stage, Chief Bukola Olopade, the Group Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, is championing the rebirth of wheelchair basketball sport in Nigeria.

Nigeria's men's wheelchair basketball team has qualified for the 2023 African Para Games in Ghana.
Pulse sports reports that Nigeria has picked the ticket for the 2023 African Para Games in Ghana in men's wheelchair basketball.
Nigeria defeated Ghana, Gambia, and Senegal at the just concluded International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) African Para Games qualifier in Accra.
The women's wheelchair basketball team from Nigeria, however, has already qualified without having to play.
