Antetokoumpo and Embid are now doubts for the NBA All-Star game due to injury.
Greek-Nigerian professional basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered an injury in the early hours of Friday, February 17, 2023.
Antetokoumpo was named in the starting lineup for the Milwaukee Bucks in an away fixture against the Chicago Bulls.
The 28-year-old would feature for just 10 minutes in the game as he picked up a wrist injury.
Going for a chase-down block, Antetokoumpo stumbles, braces himself, and began clutching his wrist.
Replays showed that he jammed his right hand on the padding and it had it checked out by the trainer.
The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player award winner headed to the locker room and was unable to return to the game.
He was ruled out of the game with a wrist injury as confirmed by the Bucks while the game was still going on.
There was however good news later as the Bucks confirmed after a trip to the hospital to check out Antetokpumpo's wrist that the x-rays were negative.
The Bucks in the absence of Antetoukoumpo were able to dominate the Bulls to record a 12-point victory to head to the break second in the Eastern Conference.
Joel Embiid is a doubt for the All-Star game
Cameroonian professional basketball player Joel Embiid has indicated that he may not participate in the NBA All-Star game.
Embiid made this known after the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in their final game before the break.
The 28-year-old Embiid explained that he has not been healthy and the doctors recommended that he rested to get back to good condition.

Speaking on his availability for the All-Star game, Embiid said, I'm not sure I'm not healthy.
"You know I haven't been healthy for the past three weeks a month, uh you know it was I was just trying to get to the all-star break.
"You know without missing games and stuff but you know I feel like I've reached a point where yeah I really need to follow the doctor's advice.
"Back then he said uh I should have been sitting for two weeks so I'm gonna see how the next few days goes and go from there."
The NBA All-Star weekend is set for Slat Lake City, Utah with the game scheduled for the early hours of Monday, February 20, 2023.
