Nigeria's Arike Ogunbowale puts up 35 points to lead the Dallas Wings blowout of the Phoenix Mercury.

Dallas defeated Phoenix 90-77 early on Saturday, June 10, 2023, behind 35 points from Arike Ogunbowale and a double-double from Satou Sabally.

Ogunbowale increased the Wings' record to 4-0 at home this season by making 12 of 21 shots, including five 3-pointers, and dishing out five assists. 

Natasha Howard contributed with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Sabally, the No. 2 overall choice in the 2020 draft, ended with 17 points and 16 rebounds for her fourth consecutive double-double and fifth of the season.

With a 0-3 loss record on the road, the Mercury were led by Brittney Griner's 18 points. 

Diana Taurasi had 12 points and five assists, while Sug Sutton contributed 16 points and nine rebounds.

Arike Ogunbowale battles Michaela Onyenwere

American professional basketball player of Nigerian descent, Arike Ogunbowale, was in top form for the Dallas Wings.

She recorded a season-high 35 points, two steals, five assists, and one rebound in 39 minutes of action.

American professional basketball player of Nigerian descent, Michaela Onyenewere, was also in good form for the Phoenix Mercury.

Onyenwere recorded nine points, two blocks, one steal, two assists, and six rebounds.
