Even though they are currently the strongest team in the Olympics, the United States didn't have every star in the game on Saturday night in the All-Star Game.
The WNBA squad defeated the U.S. Olympic team 117-109, with Ogunbowale setting the All-Star scoring record with 34 points and Clark narrowly missing the assist mark in her All-Star debut.
The victory over the Olympians was the WNBA All-Star team's second straight.
The U.S. men's Olympic team defeated South Sudan by one point in an exhibition match held in London just hours prior to Saturday's defeat.
The last two Olympics, Ogunbowale was in the U.S. national team pool, but he was not included on the roster.
This time, she withdrew her name from the player pool early, claiming that the entire procedure was political.

Arike Ogunbowale this season
Ogunbowale has now earned the MVP award for the All-Star Game twice; the first time she did it was in 2021, during her third season in the league.
She will now want to build on her impressive performance in the All-Star Game to have a successful remainder of the season.

This season, she is averaging 22.3 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game, which are career highs.
Dallas is now in last place in the WNBA standings with a 6-19 record, which is unfortunate for the Wings because Ogunbowale's stellar season hasn't carried over to the rest of the club.
