AS Douanes built on their dramatic end to the Basketball Africa League regular season by defeating Ferroviario da Beira to reach the semi-final stage.
Douanes were on the verge of elimination from the Sahara Conference in March but defeated defending champions US Monastir in the last game to book a slot in the playoffs and also send the Tunisian side back home.
The Senegalese side dominated Ferroviario en route to a comfortable win in the quarter-finals Sunday evening in Kigali, Rwanda.

Ehab Amin led Ahly with a team-high 22 points, while Nuni Omot and Corey Webster added 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Douanes used their presence in the paint to dominate the inside game and score 38 points.
Despite Beira’s efforts in the last two quarters, Douanes sent a message with a 20-point victory to book a place in Wednesday’s semi-finals.
Samba Fall led Douanes with 23 points, while Marcus Crawford added 17.
Mathew Bryan-Amaning got a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Boissy came off the bench for 15 points in 14 minutes.
Makhtar Gueye scored 19 points and gathered nine rebounds for Beira, while Ismael Nurmamade and Najeal Young added 13 points.
Beira were simply out-competed. The bench could only combine for 10 points, while Douanes got a massive 42 from the second unit.
