The 2024 Basketball Africa League’s (BAL) Kalahari Conference group phase continued on Tuesday night at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa.
Debutants FUS Rabat of Morocco beat home team Cape Town Tigers 84-58.
Aliou Diarra led FUS with 21 points and six rebounds, while Samkelo Cele scored a team-high 22 points for the Cape Town Tigers.
Fans at the arena were treated to a halftime performance by award-winning Amapiano artist Young Stunna, with other entertainment acts including acrobatic dunkers, traditional drummers and dancers.
Earlier in the day, BAL Ambassador and 2011 NBA Champion Ian Mahinmi and NBA Academy Africa Associate Technical Director Joe Touomou held a BAL coaches clinic for local basketball coaches.
The basketball action will continue on Thursday, March 14, when FUS Rabat takes on Petro de Luanda of Angola at 7.00 p.m. CAT, with a pregame performance and halftime show by South African music artists MJ and Nadia Nakai, respectively.
