The Cleveland Cavaliers' perfect run to start the season has finally come to an end.

Cleveland's undefeated streak was stopped at 15 after they lost 120-117 to the Boston Celtics on November 19 night in their NBA Cup group second week showdown in a key Eastern Conference clash.

Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson said pre-game that the game was a real test for his side and was eager to get feedback after the match. "We want feedback," Atkinson told ESPN. "More feedback. Hopefully we'll see this team down the road and down the road in an important game.

"On the other hand, I don't want to blow this game out of proportion. It's that balance, but it's more anxious to see where we are. And we all know our schedule has not been the hardest. We're playing an elite team, the top team in the league. So I just can't wait to get some feedback from the game," Atkinson said.

Boston, despite a stellar push from Cleveland after halftime, had enough to hold off the Cavaliers, ending Cleveland's unblemished start. For his part, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said he was looking at this game as an opportunity for his Celtics to shore up specific things that have troubled them lately.

Among the areas the tactician had a keen eye on were individual defense and positioning, and rebounding in general. The Cavaliers, despite losing, showed that they are a team to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference this season.

Both sides were missing players – Kristaps Porzingis for Boston, and the collection of wing players for Cleveland. But all in all, it was a fabulously fun game – one that puts Boston back in control of East Group C in the NBA Cup standings, and gives a lot to look forward to for the next time these teams face off against one anoth
