Equity Dumas annihilated a stubborn Ulinzi Warriors 90-63 to cruise to the final of the Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League in a thrilling match played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday night, May 21.
This is the first time the Bankers have qualified for the final, where they will lock horns with the defending champions, Kenya Ports Authority. During last year's season,they were knocked out in the semifinals by the Ulinzi Warriors.

The Bankers led in the first and second quarters before the table was eventually turned.
The highly spirited warriors started off the match on a high as they gave the Bankers a run for their money in the better part of their first quarter. The laid-back Bankers were salvaged by a three-pointer score from Faheem Juma to end the first quarter 21-17 with Equity ahead.
The second quarter saw the Bankers come with a high tempo, with back-to-back three-pointer scores from talisman Juma, keeping the Warriors on their toes. With three minutes to go in the second quarter, the scores were 37-26.

The Bankers came back for the third quarter, proving to be a hard nut to crack with their tight defensive mechanisms that hardly left a loop for the Warriors to score. The Warriors had many defense lapses that saw Equity use that to their advantage, scoring at any slight opportunity. The third quarter ended 77-52.
As the two teams came back to the court for the fourth set, the dressing room conversations seemed to have changed the Warriors' game plan, and they had pulled up their socks. They launched three-pointers easily as Equity slacked on their defense.

BASKETBALL Zetech Sparks oust Equity to seal historic final against KPA
Zetech will face KPA in the ladies final while KPA men are yet to book a place in the final.
However, their reign was short-lived as Equity took the mantle one more time and controlled the game, denying the Warriors any slight opportunities to score. This called for a time-out with only six minutes remaining and the scores reading 87-57.
The Warriors fought hard to try to close the gap, but it proved impossible as the Bankers had also stepped up their game. This saw the match end 90-63.
