Norman Powell and James Harden were able to propel the Clippers to beat the Warriors.

The Clippers were relieved to defeat the Golden State Warriors, 102-99, on Monday's second night of a back-to-back at the Intuit Dome.

It was another close, game-changing victory for the Clippers over one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

Until Leonard's problematic right knee is judged strong enough for him to play, the Clippers will win this game and any others they can.

After a third quarter, the Clippers were ahead by three points (75–72).

In an early-season test in front of a nearly sold-out crowd, Curry—long considered the best shooter in NBA history—was facing Harden, the recently crowned No. 2 on the career list for 3-point shots.

It came down to defense, even though the teams made seven 3-pointers in the last six minutes, including two from Steph Curry and two from Norman Powell of the Clippers.

With 2:12 left, Andrew Wiggins scored a 3-pointer to put the Warriors within 102-95.

Wiggins scored two more points after a layup from Curry, cutting the advantage to 102-99.

However, the Warriors lost to the Clippers for the second time this season when Curry missed a shot with 12 seconds remaining and Gary Payton II missed a 26-footer with two seconds remaining.
