Nigeria's D'Tigers star Jordan Nwora dropped 21 points as the Bucks defeated the Cavaliers.
The Milwaukee Bucks recorded a 113-98 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers in an NBA Eastern Conference matchup that was played in the early hours of Thursday, November 17, 2022.
The Bucks were without two all-stars in Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton for the clash at the Fiserv Forum.
Launching their City editions on a new hard court, the Bucks had a slow start in front of their fans as the first quarter ended 37-34 in favor of the Cavs.
The Bucks responded to take the second quarter 27 -23 and take a one-point lead at the halftime break.
It was in the third quarter the Bucks created separation as it ended 34-18. The Bucks now had a 17 points lead going into the fourth quarter which ended 20-18 in favor of the Cavs.
It was a huge win for Mike Budenholzer as the Bucks had lost their last two games against the San Antonio Spurs and the Atalanta Hawks.
Despite the victory, the Bucks are still second in the Eastern Conference standings behind the Boston Celtics.
Jordan Nwora shines as Bucks beat Cavs
Nigerian professional basketball player Jordan Nwora was the star player for the Bucks against the Cavs.
In a team that has Greek player of Nigerian descent Giannis Antetokoumpo, Nwora was the second top scorer for the Bucks in the victory.
In just 28 minutes from the bench, Nwora contributed 21 points, three points one bloc, steal and assist.
He made six of 10 shots, five of nine from the three-point range, and four of six from the free throw stripe.
The 24-year-old Nwora is now averaging seven points and four rebounds this season.
He is expected to return to action when the Milwaukee Bucks travel to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, November 18, 2022.
