After being destroyed by Denver Nuggets, the Phoenix Suns have decided to part ways with Monty Williams.
When the Phoenix Suns completed a big deal for 13-time All-Star Kevin Durant in the middle of the season, they displayed their ambition to challenge for the title.
After a dismal playoff exit, the Suns are now implementing significant adjustments.
After four seasons, the Phoenix Suns sacked head coach Monty Williams.
Williams' four-year tenure comes to an end two days after the Suns were ousted at home by the No. 1 seed Denver Nuggets in a fairly uncompetitive 125-100 home loss.
The Suns finished fourth in the West with a regular-season record of 45-37.
Before falling to Denver in the semifinals, they won the opening round in five games against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Suns on Monty Williams
A statement by Suns president of basketball operations/general manager James Jones released a statement on the departure on Monty Williams.
He said, "We are filled with gratitude for everything Monty has contributed to the Suns and to the Valley community.

"While it was difficult for me to make this decision, I look forward to continuing the work to build a championship team."
The Suns' season ended in a disgraceful manner at home in the second round for the second year in a row.
He recorded a 194-115 record and Phoenix overcame a 10-season playoff drought in 2021, which resulted in participation in the NBA Finals.
The Suns had the best record in the NBA in 2021–2022 (64–18), but lost to Dallas in Game 7 123–90 after falling down by 30 points. The Suns were 30 points behind at the break in Game 6 against Denver as well.
